A coolhead has absolutely, positively, no effect whatsoever on coolant temperature. I have one and a temp gauge and I know and have tested this. An aluminum impeller DOES help cooling quite a bit. Fix the impeller issue and while you're in there get a megaflow aluminum impeller and you'll be good to go. All rights reserved.
I was wondering what could I do to make this problem go away.. Lots of things can cause over heating. Check your jetting and make sure you aren't running too lean. You need to get this fixed or else your going to be rebuilding your engine in the near future.
First things first, Run some good gas in it. Dont run some cheap unleaded gas, go for the premium or race gas if you have lots of compression. Make sure you are jetted right. If you dont know how to check your jetting just say so and we can tell you how, its easy. Tighten all your hose clamps down. The inline cooler is the last thing you should get to help out. Dont drag your feet on doing this, you will be glad when you get it fixed.
Good luck. While everyone has good advice if in fact your shee is actually overheating I have to ask you this. Is your overflow bottle still in the same location???? Is it real full??? Alot of shees seem to be overheating when in fact they are not. The stock overflow bottle location is a poor design from the factory. For instance Going up a steep hill, or wheelying That is why you think it is overheating.
