You can use the speed test below to measure both the download and upload speeds of your Internet connection. For optimal results, connect your computer to your modem using an Ethernet cable. Good to know : Measuring your speeds over a Wi-Fi connection may result in slower speeds due to a combination of possible factors. Ensure that no other users or devices are connected to your home network and downloading or uploading large files. Please note that the Cogeco Speed test is reserved for Cogeco Internet customers only.
Download and upload speeds can vary with Internet traffic, remote peers, your network configuration, the use of wireless equipment and other factors. So, the speed is really just a happy coincidence. However, when they claim to provide 60 Mbps, I expect to receive 60 Mbps. Not 20 — 30 Mbps. Of course, gaming on any platform, whether it be the PC or the PS4, is nearly impossible with such an unreliably inconsistent internet connection. I have Cogeco to thank for this absolute mess. To make matters even worse, Cogeco informed me when I last talked with them that they were fully aware of network congestion in my area, which would explain the slow speeds.
Are you fucking serious, Cogeco? How fucking retarded can you dumbasses be? First time due to disconnects and slow speeds. He was very professional and changed the heads on the lines said everything looked good.
He replaced our Agris wifi modem with another one. Then we had a problem connecting our cell phones to the wifi, some things would connect and others wouldn't. This seemed to get temporarily fixed after contacting Cogeco Supoort over the phone. Then I started to notice extreme slowdowns so I ran speedtests on the speedtest website.
I thought maybe this was due to congestion so I went to bed and tried again the next night and was met with the same results. I called Cogeco Support again and they said they could see packet loss and majority of the time this could be fixed on their end but it has a 48hr window.
So then I was stuck with slow speeds for another two days when I called after 48hrs of slow speeds the Support Agent on the other end said they were working on the problem right now. The next day I checked my speeds in the morning and it seemed to work. Now a couple of days ago I started to experience slow downs again and our cell phones would connect to Wifi randomly but majority of the time it wouldnt connect.
So I called tech support again this time the Agent was really understanding and very nice. She ran some tests and determined it was packet loss again and booked a technician to come out 2 days later it was saturday came on monday.
The Tech came on Monday and I asked him if getting a router would help he said yes, so I bought a new router and he came back today to install a different modem. So here I am right now brand new modem, new router and 3. It was working great when he left and all afternoon until pm. I understand there can be congestion in the area at times but to drop almost 52 MBPS is not right.
I do not know what else to do I am completly baffled. I come here looking for an answer and solution to my problem. All the Technicians and Tech Support have been outstanding to be honest. I just need to get this working please. Hi there, Sorry to hear about the troubles you are experiancing. If you create a post in the direct forum I would be happy to take a look at your account and help with a resolution.
Thanks, Peter. The Hobbit join Peterborough, ON. Still hasnt been fixed. Getting worse and worse ive noticed from 5pm until 1am speed is trash got a measly 0. Tech says lines are good and new modem and router Wyliedog start. Another late night here with slow speeds and with the same plan and been experiencing it for about a month now as well. Googled and found my way here. Fellow Leamington user. Very unsettling seeing the responses you've gotten. I've called as well, just once though in the middle of October.
What I was told was there was some sort of "outage" in the area. He mentioned that customers might experience slow speeds and high ping in the evening hours because of it and it should be fixed by the end of October.
Which describes exactly what I'm experiencing. If I were to do a speedtest in the morning my speeds are absolutely fine. It's the evenings. They handed us a credit for the slow speeds we were getting and that was that.
